Misfit Media Develops Content for Little Hippie e-Commerce Brand

Misfit Media partnered with the clothing company Little Hippie, an official licensed artist for the Grateful Dead, to create content about the band and the movement it has inspired.

As 2015 is the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead, and the band’s remaining members will play final concerts this year, Little Hippie sought to use the moment to create community around the legendary act for a new generation of fans.

Working with company’s founder and featured artist Taylor Swope, Misfit Media worked to conceptualize one of her characters, infamous Owlsley, as the blog’s Book Club mascot, sharing interesting tidbits about the band from various sources.

Beginning with a trip to the Grateful Dead Archive in the McHenry Library at University of California at Santa Cruz, the Little Hippie blog has covered interesting and poignant moments in the band’s history. The site also runs calls for artist submissions, shares fan created video content and shares tips on surviving the festival life with a family, a lifestyle enjoyed by their happy customers.

Little Hippie’s page on Facebook has garnered over 40,000 likes and the active community frequently engages with the blog by using Facebook Connect and taking advantage of their finely tuned Open Graph.
